[Karen likes that he is in comfortable clothing, he looks, and seems more relaxed.]
Huh, but it is not at all surprising. Children often tend to take up similar things to their parents. My mother used to draw, and paint. So, other than mental or physical ailments, you can also pick up quirks, and things that they used to do
[That makes her smile.] Damn right it is!
[When he settles on coffee, Karen stands to add a small cup to the coffee maker Adds water, and then puts a cup underneath. Pressing the button, soon enough the smell of coffee began to fill the kitchen.]
If you want milk, or juice too...let me know?
[She states as she grabs the milk and pours a glass for herself Lifting a piece of bacon, Karen takes a happy bite out of it.]
Well, dig in. Tell me if you like it? I added some Baileys to the french toast mix...
[Matt pulls on his hoodie a little. He's still savoring and chewing.]
Heh. Thanks.
[Not much of a look for him more as a feeling. Points if he happens to look nice though.]
I think that there is. I don't think that's something that's an acceptable answer for teachers though. I got into a fight and oh man. [He shakes his head.] My father was furious. Now, I didn't start the fight, I was trying to finish it. Still.
[There's a distance in his smile that's gone in the next moment.]
So the well got you this time? I haven't been there just yet.
I think it is because you look so relaxed dressed like this. [She says fondly.]
[She stops and listens to him carefully, plus she loved the sound of his voice She could stand around, and be happy if all he did was talk in a low voice right near her ear. She had to stop herself as she was suddenly deep in thought,]
Well, I can see their point, but fighting is another form of body language, Some of the stuff people can do is quite amazing to watch. [She laughed at his story.] Oh, a bad boy, huh? I always liked the bad boys.
[She frowned a bit at his comment about his dad being furious.] That must have sucked. Did you finish it?
[She smirked a bit, then took a bite of her sandwich; making a happy, satisfied sound Once she swallowed, she was able to answer him.] Yeah, there are some nice trails I want to go on. Heard the views from there are amazing. Plus, I can relax with some food, and watch the sun set. [Taking a sip from her milk, she then cleared her throat after she swallowed it.] I've been jogging around Eudio every morning, finding new places to sit and sketch, or people watch.
[That got a laugh, as well as a mischievous smile which could be heard in her voice.] I don't know. I have nothing to base a comparison on.
[He can't see what she's wearing, true. Clothing does make a person move differently. The fabric makes less sound with fewer coarse materials. Having Karen right here and filling his belly is like some kind of daydream fulfilled.]
Not bad, just felt like I had to have something to prove. I was able to get the other kid off of his feet. He was a grade or two above me. A teacher broke us up. So no, I didn't finish the fight. I got detention.
[Sex vs sandwich is not the sort of issue to have. And the coffee to wash it down. Mmm.]
There are plenty of people to watch. [And he nods in agreement about places and trails. It's a change from the streets. More nature than he's used to outside of central park.]
You mean yet.
[Matt gives his own smile her way. Chomping into another bite saves him for a moment.]
[Just know that is pretty skimpy, and the shorts are short, and tight. Her tank top is black, and she isn't wearing anything under it. ]
Ah, well...that sucks...[She didn't know what to say to that though. It was sad that he had to prove something, or that he had to fight with some bullies at all.] Well, detention always sucks.
I wish you could come with me, I think it would be nice. I know you can't see the sunset, but it would be nice for some fresh air, and company to eat food with [And she really meant it. Karen loved spending time with Matt.]
True, and I do enjoy it.
[That makes her laugh.] Oh, is that it? Well, guess I should go find myself a date after dinner to prove it? [She was really beginning to laugh now.]
[Body heat radiates where and how it will. He won't know for sure until he touches her. But there is a fair degree of skin moving over skin.]
Sucks sums it up, yes.
[He laughs at himself, about the way back when. That was such a horrible thing at the time. Retrospectively, with all said and done, it wasn't so bad at all.]
I can enjoy a hike. Just not the scenery. The fresh air and atmosphere would be great. Company and snacking too.
[A small lean and he can bump her with his elbow.]
Maybe that person is closer than you think. Who knows. [Matt licks his lips of syrup and deliciousness. One more bite. It's going fast.]
I thought it might. [She says with a slight chuckle.]
I know you can, just didn't know if you would want too...I guess it is what I was getting at, I guess.
'[She gently bumps his arm with her own arm, and chuckles even more.]
Really? Are you going to set me up with your long, lost twin brother named Mike or something? [She was still joking, but she did notice how fast he was eating,] Damn, you were hungry!
[Especially if it is before nightfall. Matt keeps trying to patrol the streets. It is just not the same. For the better. He'd rather be safe than sorry.]
Oh I dunno if you can handle Mike. He's an asshole. Long, lost and evil.
[Matt sips his coffee.]
I was trying to warn you. And even if it isn't as good as sex, it's delicious.
You got it. [She reached out to caress his cheek for a moment before her fingers cupped his chin so that her thumb could rub up over the spot right up under his lower lip; swiping the pad of her finger against the spot for a few moments. Karen let her thumb linger for a few moments before she let her hand drop slowly.]
[His next comment makes her smirk.] Oh, wow. I think I am in love! Is that his OKcupid profile or something?
No need to warn me, I know you are a growing boy. I can respect that. [That got her to smile a soft, genuine smile that could be heard in her voice.] Thank you! I am glad I could sway you toward it's deliciousness.
[Matt stays still under her touch. Bristle on his chin and the skin so close to his lips are hyper sensitive. He can smell the ingredients from the sandwiches, soap, her skin. Karen is warm and the tips of her fingers are soft. The moment lasts a few heartbeats. It's a brief and beautiful forever.]
No, God. No. And I'm telling you, he's horrible.
[He shakes his head.]
Growing with maybe no end in sight. I'm glad you can respect that. It frustrates me. [He leans back in the chair, the plate clean as far as he's concerned.] You did say it was better than sex though. What can be said after that?
Is he? Are you trying to keep me tucked away, and safe from a bad boy? How charming, and cute. Who knows, you might get dessert now too.
[Her smile turned mischievous as she finished a sandwich, and a half. Bacon completely gone too. Standing, she moves to kiss the top of his head as she goes about cleaning off the table, and wrapping up the last of her sandwich.] Do you want this last piece? If not, I am going to put it away.
That'a okay, I will think you perfect no matter what.
[Finishing her milk, both plates, and her glass go into the sink. Then she puts his glass back before she puts away the drinks. Getting a small glass to pour some orange juice, Karen takes a sip before she washes her hands.
Moving to wrap up her garbage, she moves toward the front door to put it outside in a bit.]
So, can I tempt you with anything else? More coffee?
[That was so sweet, she moves closer to press close to him, pressing her nose into his hair so she could kiss him there again. She doesn't move away quickly, she just stands there for a while, just being close to him.] That is so very sweet of you.
[When he states that he is full, Karen pulls back some to wrap her arms around him as she sits in his lap for a few moments.]
Well, that's good. It'll be there if you want it later. Speaking of later, if you decided to stay, I bought some extra toothbrushes. [He was staying here a lot, she wouldn't mind if he kept some stuff here.] You can leave some stuff here, if you want too, or need too.
[She nods about his comment to have more coffee.] You got it. [Smiling, she kisses his forehead, speaking close to his skin.] Sure, I can bring in some of my drawings. [She states as she goes to stand up.]
[He's far away enough from the table to provide a proper seat. Once she's close to him, against him there is a lot more bare skin close to him. Matt knows how smooth and how long her limbs are. His hands grip at her hips in case his lap fails to be a reliable seat.]
Thanks. [Thoughtfulness is one of her strong suits.] I didn't want to presume.
[She starts to get up and his hands grip lightly.]
Hey. No rush. [He'll release her immediately if she is committed to standing.]
[Karen loved his hands, especially when they were all over her. The hand on her hip makes her bite her bottom lip a bit.]
Sure No presumptions, I like having you around. [She said smoothly as she went to kiss his cheek.
When she goes to stand, but his hands are gripping at her like that, however lightly, Karen feels powerless to move,]
Okay. Besides, I was showing you what dessert was, just in case you weren't sure about it. [She leaned her head in close so she her face was close to his neck, and her head was resting on his shoulder.]
But...I know you said you didn't want any...so...[Her smile was wide, and cheeky.]
[Matt lets her go and his hands stay at his thighs as he listens to her move.]
Are you saying lots of people like you too?
[Cheesy, but his delivery is even and sincere.]
Yes, please. More coffee would be nice.
[Fully aware that their last close encounter was virtually wrecked by Matt's nerves, he is not sure of how to navigate his way through the moment. He's not about to give up. Nope.]
[That makes her blink, but she clears her throat, and smiles softly.] Maybe...people seem to like me well enough, but I hadn't realized you were talking about me. There seem to be...
[She nods softly, and moves to put another coffee packet into the machine. Then she put in water, and started it. Moving out of the room then to grab her drawing pad.
Coming back a few moments later, she places the pad down in front of him. The paper had raised bumps on it, and was a thick variety. The drawings had some heavy shadows, with lots of white spaces. Like a play between darkness and lightness she feels herself living in.
Then she turns toward the sink. Grabbing a scouring brush, she starts to work on the dinner pan. She knew a lot of the pieces by heart.]
The first one is of a little girl I saw chasing around a butterfly. She was quite cute, tiny, no more then 4 with baloney curls, and chubby cheeks. I saw her at the gardens, [She was the kind of child Karen hoped to have on her own someday.]
[Enough to rival Foggy on that scale of person to person relations.
Hearing her move to start the machine gives him an idea of how it works. Fascinating and easy, he'll keep it in mind.
The pad in front of him makes Matt pause questioningly. Karen describes the works at a distance. The dishes do need doing yes. Matt carefully lifts his hands to the paper. The texture is immediately noticeable. He keeps his touch light for fear of smearing her work. There's plenty to feel. The picture slowly comes into his head as he lets his fingers pan over the sketching.]
Thank you, Matt. That is sweet of you to say. [She says in a soft but clear voice.]
[Sighing wistfully, she swallows thickly, and audibly as she finishes the pan and moves to work on some of the bowls.]
I hope to have a child like her one day; she was quite adorable. [She had given Karen hope, something she's been seriously missing these days.[ It is the first time I felt hope in months. I had to capture the moment.
[He doesn't just say things. And she deserves to hear nice truths. Matt nods his return. He's still wrapped up in taking in the picture. The more she describes her feelings the more the composition makes sense with light and shadow.]
[She knows that about him. He is one of the most sincere, least bullshit people she knows. And that is even with his secrets. Yes, he lied, often, but it was for protection. That is exactly what she did too.]
Thank you. I wanted to give it to the father, but I couldn't part with it.
[She laughs flatly at that. Shrugging a bit awkwardly, that awkwardness transfers in tone to her voice.] Maybe..doesn't feel like it. It's okay though.
[She feels a shift in the air flow as he stands behind her.] You don't have to, you are my guest after all. Though, if you want to help, you can. [Handing him a towel. She was bent down so that her hair covered her face, she just felt like not being open right now. So, she closed down a little.]
Unless you want to wash? [She said in a soft, clear voice.]

I think it's more acceptable to take interest in artistic endeavors. [Matt smiles a little.] Do you usually paint still life or scenery?
[Coffee is like an a-bomb to all the other smells. It's grand.]
Thank you, I will.
[At her bidding he takes his first bite and thoughtfully chews as the flavor drenches his palette.]
Mmmm.
no subject
Truth be told, there is an artistic beauty to boxing and other sports like it?
I paint people, places and whatever takes my fancy.
[Watching him eat makes her happy. He looks like he is really enjoying it. It made her happy to make him happy.]
Glad you are enjoying it. Makes me happy. I still think it is better than sex though.
no subject
Heh. Thanks.

I dunno. Both are really good.

[And maybe a small degree of competition with an imaginary threat? Hah. He grins at the warm press of a kiss.]
Thanks, I'm full for now.
[It's in very capable hands. It won't last at all. Chomp, chomp.]
You could get me more coffee. Maybe show me your artistic process? I might not be able to see it but... still is interesting.

Did I? I may of meant not right now for dessert.
[With her hair down and her head on his shoulder there's plenty of eat and pressure to see her face. That is one cheeky smile.]
I like sweets.
no subject
Ah, right. [Thing like this is still under his control. Nodding, she moves to stand.] I'll get up. [She states very quietly.]
[At that, she chuckles, closing her eyes. That smile fading just a smidge as she spoke.]
Lots of people like sweets. You want that coffee now?
